Frankenstein Teaser Trailer

An advance preview of Frankenstein created in 2011, comprising various themes and ideas from the early stages of the writing process. Richard had begun experimenting with themes and motifs at the piano in order to establish a general tone for the album, and decided to arrange and record his ideas into a full-blown progressive instrumental. This track is the result, and served as an appetising taster of things to come!

About Richard

Richard Campbell is a multi-instrumentalist from London, UK, with a passion for progressive rock and metal. His musical dream would be to create a perfect blend of Dream Theater, Queen, Spock's Beard, Symphony X, Pantera, Elton John, Tool, and ELO...

Richard's musical journey began with piano lessons as a child, and over the years he picked up numerous instruments, developing his skills through playing with a variety of bands. He played drums with a rock/metal band (Hunger For The Crash), bass in a pop/blues band (Jamthreads), keyboards with a Dream Theater covers band, guitar for an Ugly Kid Joe covers band, bass/programming for a Mr Bungle tribute band (Bungle Junior), and drums for a Tool covers band.

After many years studying the art of recording, Richard finally opened his own studio in 2009. Alongside running this business, Richard is now concentrating on his own 'solo' material, enlisting the help of singers he has met over the years. In 2010 he released his first album - Orpheus: A Rock Opera, a concept album which tells the story of Orpheus and Eurydice. His second rock opera, based on Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, was released in December 2012.

Richard's studio - Orpheus Studio - is situated in the heart of east London, and is where he records and produces all of his material. As well as managing the business, he is also the engineer, so anyone hiring the studio also gets the opportunity to collaborate with a 'patient, musically sensitive, technologically adroit, efficient, gifted and versatile musician', who can 'really help bring your musical ideas to life' (to quote previous clients)!
